Arcade Fire - Big Day Out (Sydney), 26 January 2014
All three of the Arcade Fire sets I saw were great, but in terms of recording quality this one is probably the best, although it isn't perfect by any means. There's still a bit of chatter and bumping of the mic, and the sound isn't perfect, but I'd actually give this one a listen for the enjoyment, unlike the first two recordings. Anyway, enjoy this, these guys put on a hell of a show.

Arcade Fire - Big Day Out (Melbourne), 24 January 2014
The second of my three Arcade Fire shows for the tour, and while the recording is an improvement on Auckland, it still isn't great. There is a bit of mic noise early on, plus a fair bit of crowd chatter. Both die down late in the set, resulting in the tail end of this being pretty good, but unless you were there the best option is the promotional set I put up before the tour started.

Arcade Fire - Big Day Out (Auckland), 17 January 2014
Soooo many shows to process and put up (plus lots more that I'll be recording in the next month or so). This is the first show Arcade Fire have performed (outside promotional shows) for their new album, so it might be interesting for fans. I was interested to hear the way they managed to incorporate the new elements from Reflektor into older songs. Unfortunately, there was a bit of wind in the early part of their set and I was moving around a bit to find a good spot, so there's a bit of occassional russling that dies away after a few songs. This was a really great set, but the recording isn't super, I'm hoping to get something better at one of their upcoming shows.

Arcade Fire - Coachella, 16 April 2011
Had this one sitting round for a while, but realised I should probably put it up before Big Day Out starts. This is a nice soundboard from their last tour in case you want to catch up on that stuff.

Arcade Fire - Capitol Records, 28 October 2013
I've got a few recent shows that I'll try to put up quickly, rather than do my normal thing of putting them aside until I get round to it. This one is two Arcade Fire sets from a couple of weeks ago. First up is a promotional show at Captiol Records; the other is their show a few days later at Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit. Both shows lean heavily on their new material, which initially sounds quite different to their previous recods, but with repeated listens starts to make more sense in their canon.

Arcade Fire - New York, 17 February 2007
If you'd placed a bet that any Australian festival would feature Arcade Fire in third spot you could of made a hell of a lot of money. But that's what Big Day Out has managed to produce. At the moment the middle of the lineup is pretty light (they've said that this will be the focus of the second announcement), but what a hell of a top three.
This is a set from way back in 2007 (there'll be something more recent later on). There are a few rough points - Régine isn't the greatest singer (she sounds ok on Poupée de cire, poupée de son, so maybe it's just the comparison with the studio versions that hurts her), but this is also a point where the band were still small enough to be able to play multiple nights at a church.
The sound is good - Wake Up isn't up to the same quality as the rest of the set, but that's explained in the introduction. Like I said, I'll be putting up a couple of shows from all the headliners, so if you want something more recent just a wait a while.
