Update
Not been a good few weeks blog wise. The promised increase in uploading power didn't materialise, and my computer seems to be in the process of imploding. This has meant I haven't been able to update with the material I had planned on putting up. Once things are back on track I expect to have a LOT of stuff to put up. I've already mentioned the Beirut show, plus I recorded Battles sideshow, and want to put up Pearl Jam in Atlanta 1994. I'll also be attending quite a few shows in the next month. So although things might be quiet, they will pick up again as soon as I have a computer that doesn't crash every few minutes.

Reflections
Apart from the general awesomeness of this bit of art, I find it amazing how they've added a reflection to his glasses. I've spent a lot of time staring into his dreamy eyes and wondering where it is that hes looking at.

The other mysterious and prolific artist
Like my kitteh friend, I'm not sure who this is.
Postscript: having written this I've learnt that the mysterious artist is nuFevah (as you can see in a couple of the pics - duh!).

Classic Bootlegs - Pearl Jam Pinkpop '92
Looks like there is a clear preference for Pearl Jam in the classic bootlegs poll, so I thought I'd upload a few in addition to the Atlanta '94 show. This is a pre-Vs show in front of the biggest crowd they'd played to that date. As a festival set its fairly short, but everthing is a gem. There is also a pro-shot video of this, which is worth the download simply for Eddie climbing onto the camera boom and insisting they swing him out over the crowd for stage dive, followed by the crowd attempting to tear him apart. The show is followed by an interview. Normally things like that are pretty boring but there are a few gems in this. My favourite:
Interviewer: Now Eddie, your name is 'Vedder' it sounds very Dutch.
EV: Yeah, I think it was, it was um, it was from ah, ohhh, Denmark, yeah it is, uh, Dutch.
Interviewer: Its almost Holland, but its a different country Denmark.
EV: Yeah but, it doesn't matter, ah uh, because uh the people in Holland have been so good to us really its like family, especially places like Utrecht, and people at the Tivoli, uh guy named Eric and all those people there, its like family y'know.
I'm not sure but I'm guessing that maybe all those people that have treated you like family might think the difference between Denmark and Holland is kind of important.

Kitteh
Why is it that I dispise people who use terms such as kitteh and then use it myself? Maybe because I am a riddle, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a ball of loathing and self hate. Who knows? Not sure who is responsible for these (looks like GLF on the ear), but they're very prolific. They're one of the two bits of art that are virtually omnipresent in Melbourne (the other will be posted later).

Elton John - 7 December 2011, Rod Laver Arena
Not too much to say about this one. I imagine Elton John isn't somebody most people who view this blog are interested in, but he has made some great music and I wanted to see him once in my lifetime. The show was a bit weird, it seemed aimed at middle aged folk who don't go to see music often - lots of awkward theatrics and acting as if this was the most enjoyable show of his life. The backdrops were also really really poor - as if someone had been mucking round with windows screensavers. The good thing is that (obviously) none of that is captured by the recordin, which means that listening back to it I actually thought the show was better than I did when I was there. A final note - the listed playing time was really long (3.5 hours I think), so I was worried about running out of space. To avoid this I reduced the recording quality. This is sometimes noticeable when he talk to the crowd, but, although you can hear it if you try, it doesn't really affect the songs, which is the main thing.

Stabsystabs
Another unique and interesting artist, who (generally) uses variations on a set theme. It can sometimes be hard to figure out who is responsible for some bits of art, but Stabs stuff is, generally, incredibly distinctive.
Looking through these photos has reminded me how much great stuff there is if you keep an eye out.

Update
I'm going to have some increased uploading power next week so I'm planning on making use of it to put a few things up (some will be scheduled so they won't all appear next week). Expect to see:
Elton John - 7 December at Rod Laver
Beirut - 9 January at HiFi (I haven't actually listened to this yet so this is subject to the recording being OK)
A few classic Pearl Jam shows since the votes seem to suggest there is some interest out there
One or two Wilco shows (or outtakes albums etc)
Whatever other things I find that might be of interest
So keep an eye out, and if you have any requests for particular bands put them in the comments and I'll see what I can do.

Another Street Art Post
This is the side of someone's house. If I actually owned a place I'd be tempted to get someone to do an internal 'feature' wall. That might be a bit douchey but that's the way I roll.
